It is simply unbelievable the amount of e-mails that I receive every day from friends, readers, and even people whom I haven't personally met yet, criticizing the present federal government and, specifically, the candidate nominated by the president to run for the office of President of Brazil in the elections that will take place in October 2010. I must confess that, so far, I have also contributed to that by redirecting such e-mails to my closer friends. In order to compensate for my useless but unstoppable practice, I have been trying to convince as many friends as I can that they must include in their mailing lists at least a small percentage of persons who do not see eye to eye with us, i.e., we must also send this kind of message to the ones who are willing to give the Brazilian Labor Party a third presidential tenure. I know that it is difficult to do that because we usually have friends who share our points of view and we do not feel comfortable trying to change other people's points of view. But the ones who do not want a third continuous presidential tenure given to the Brazilian Labor Party either follow this advice (to include in their mailing list people who haven't made up their minds yet regarding whom they are going to vote for) or they will be better off not spending their precious time in sending such messages to their peers. One point that can be used in an attempt to change someone's mind regarding this subject, which is not offensive, is to mention a very common proverb (and usually accepted as a true one), namely, the following:
• A MAN IS KNOWN BY HIS COMPANY. And then show the connections of the president with Hugo Chaves.
This same proverb can be expressed with other words:
• A MAN IS KNOWN BY HIS FRIENDS. And then show his connections with the so-called FARCs.
Third possibility:
• A MAN IS KNOWN BY THE COMPANY HE KEEPS and try to establish his connections with two of the most despicable human beings presently alive, known as the Castro Brothers, Fidel and Raul, owners of the most beautiful jail in the Caribbean. Actually, their island is made up of two jails, namely, Guantanamo Bay Detention Camp* and the rest of the island, despite the fact that in the Detention Camp, the prisoners have food enough to eat and in the other prison, the rest of the communist paradise, famine is a constant presence.
Guantánamo Bay is a detainment facility of the United States located in Cuba. The facility is operated by Joint Task Force Guantánamo of the United States government since 2002 in Guantánamo Bay Naval Base, which is on the shore of Guantánamo Bay.
Fourth possibility:
• TELL ME WITH WHOM THOU GOEST, AND I SHALL TELL THEE WHAT THOU DOEST. (This sentence is written in Middle English.)
In Modern English, you would say TELL ME WITH WHOM YOU GO, AND I WILL TELL YOU WHAT YOU DO. To this, try to add another bad character with whom he gets along well, such as Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. In fact, bad companies won't be difficult to find. I have a clear perception that the so-called SQUID has a special preference for bad companies.
Fifth possibility:
• AS A MAN IS, SO IS HIS COMPANY. And mention another friend of his, such as the soon forgotten Central American jester, MANOEL ZELAYA, the ousted Honduran president.
As you can see, with so many "good" and "important" friends around the world, it is not very difficult to perceive the true man behind the mask.
Anyway, as we live in a democracy, system of government that is the best that human kind has developed so far, we have to accept the possibility of a third tenure of the office of President of Brazil held by the Brazilian Labor Party.
Let us all pray to our deities for a change in the highest office of our beloved nation. So help us the Great Architect of the Universe. Amen.
